The Alabama Crimson Tide were swept by the Kentucky Wildcats during the opening weekend of SEC baseball play.
The Tide were unable to get in the win column at any point, despite scoring 15 total runs throughout the series. Alabama dropped to an overall record of 15-6 following the sweep, as the Tide will look to bounce back on Tuesday against South Alabama.
Here are three takeaways from Alabama’s series sweep against Kentucky.
Fay had been red hot prior to the Tide’s matchup vs. Kentucky on Friday. The talented pitcher surrendered eight hits and six earned runs throughout seven innings pitched, as Fay was able to stay in the game despite getting hit hard on a multitude of occasions.
The star flamethrower will look to bounce back this Friday, as Fay has been solid in 2026 prior to his nightmare outing against the Wildcats.
Lebron has been electrifying at the plate to begin the 2026 campaign. The star shortstop recorded three total hits vs. Kentucky, including a moonshot home run on Friday.
Lebron currently holds an impressive .304 batting average on the year, as the star player was elite despite the Tide being swept in Lexington.
Lemm has been widely regarded as one of the best catchers in college baseball to begin the 2026 season. The star slugger currently holds an eye-opening .328 batting average on the year, as Lemm continues to stay red hot at the plate on a nightly basis.
The catcher recorded two home runs in the series loss to Kentucky, as Alabama as a team had no problem at the plate against the Wildcats’ pitching staff throughout the entirety of the series.
Alabama will be on the road to face South Alabama on Tuesday evening, as the Tide will look to get back in the win column against the Jaguars.
