The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Women's College World Series on Saturday evening.
The Tide will enter the contest fresh off an electrifying 6-3 victory over UCLA in the opening round. Star pitcher Jocelyn Briski was able to recover after allowing three earned runs in the third inning, and the flamethrower played a critical role in Alabama’s victory over the red-hot Bruins.
Here are three bold predictions for Alabama’s WCWS matchup against Nebraska.
Wells delivered in authoritative fashion against UCLA on Thursday evening. The star sophomore went 1-for-4 at the plate with three RBI, as Wells was able to hit the eventual game-winning home run in the sixth inning of the matchup.
Wells’ moonshot ultimately gave the Tide a 6-3 lead, and the sophomore could easily heat up once again against Nebraska.
Moten was widely regarded among the top overall freshman in college softball throughout the 2026 campaign. The star flamethrower will need to be at her best during her WCWS debut, should she get the start, as Moten will face a star-studded Cornhuskers’ lineup on Saturday in Oklahoma City.
Moten will be faced with a true test against Nebraska, but the freshman will more than likely prove to dominate in the circle once again.
Pupillo was able to deliver in the clutch against UCLA in similar fashion to Wells. The senior hit a massive two-run home run in the fifth inning, which tied the game, as Pupillo has remained scorching hot over the course of the postseason.
The talented utility star went 1-for-4 in the win over UCLA, and Pupillo will look to keep things rolling against the Cornhuskers on Saturday night.
Alabama will face Nebraska on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. CT, as the Tide will look to advance and survive throughout the WCWS.
