3 players Broncos pick new jersey numbers

After making four practice squad moves this week, the Denver Broncos have three number updates.

First, the Broncosbrought back quarterback Ben DiNucci, adding depth at quarterback after losing Bo Nix to a season-ending ankle injury. To make room for DiNucci on the practice squad, Denver cut outside linebacker Garrett Nelson.

After that, the Broncos brought back wide receiver Brandon Johnson and they cut reserve center Michael Dieter to make room for him. Following those moves, there are three jersey number updates.

DiNucci took No. 5, which was previously held by practice squad running back Cody Schrader, who switched to No. 25. Johnson, facing a limited number of options, picked No. 36.

Denver's 17-player practice squad and 53-man roster are now both full as the team prepares to host the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game on Sunday.
