Bobby McMann had a career year in 2025-26. In 78 games split between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Seattle Kraken, the 6-foot-2 forward set new career highs with 29 goals, 17 assists, 46 points, and 165 hits.

McMann’s career year came at a perfect time, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent and set to land himself a big raise. This remains the case whether he re-signs with Seattle or hits the free agent market on July 1.

With that, let’s look at three teams that could sign McMann if he chooses not to re-sign with Seattle.

Edmonton Oilers​

The Oilers need more secondary scoring and grit, so don’t be surprised if they look to sign McMann this summer. He would have the potential to be an excellent addition to their top six. Yet, even if he played in a third-line role for Edmonton, he would still give their forward group a much-needed boost.

There is also a strong chance that McMann would be open to the idea of playing for the Oilers. This is because they not only have two superstars in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, but also because McMann is a native of Wainwright, Alta.

Detroit Red Wings​

The Red Wings could be another team to keep an eye on if McMann tests free agency this summer. The Red Wings desperately need to improve their forward group this summer, as they need more secondary scoring. McMann would provide them with just that.

McMann would be a candidate to play on Detroit’s first line with Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond if signed. Yet, due to his versatility, he could still make an impact in a smaller role for Detroit.

Washington Capitals​

After missing the playoffs this year, the Capitals should be looking to improve their forward group this summer. With McMann being one of the top pending UFA forwards this year, it would not be surprising if the Capitals looked to sign him this offseason.

The Capitals need another scoring winger, and McMann showed this season that he can be just that. He would be an upgrade over Anthony Beauvillier in Washington’s top six if signed. He would also give the Capitals another option for their power play.
