Since being hired by the Los Angeles Rams, Sean McVay has established himself as one of the NFL's best coaches. However, despite his success over the last 10 years, McVay is only 40 years old. Here are three stats about McVay that might shock you.

The elder statesman

Despite being one of the youngest head coaches in the NFL, McVay is tied with Kyle Shanahan for being the second-longest tenured head coach in the league. Andy Reid is No. 1 but when it comes to consecutive years with one franchise, McVay got the bump after John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin departed from their organizations.

The McVay tree

While McVay has a documented history of getting coaches promoted, it's often shocking how long he has been getting guys jobs. The next two longest-tenured head coaches are Zac Taylor and Matt LaFleur, both of whom were McVay's assistants. Kevin O'Connell is in the top eight, as well.

A Family Affair

McVay might be the only head coach in NFL history to employ brothers, a father and a son. McVay had both Matt and Mike LaFleur as his offensive coordinators, while the father-and-son duo of Aaron and Zak Kromer has coached the Rams' offensive line.

On top of that, McVay's grandfather, John, is a five-time Super Bowl-winning executive who built the San Francisco 49ers dynasty. Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula's grandfather is the NFL's All-Time winningest head coach, Don Shula. Shula and McVay's granddads faced off in Super Bowl XIX, which the 49ers won, 38-16.
