NASCAR suspended 23XI Racing employee Evanna Howell indefinitely after her arrest last weekend, the organization announced May 27.

Howell was taken into custody and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury. Around 1:45 p.m. on May 23 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, she intentionally hit a 77-year-old man with a golf cart, according to a police report. It’s unclear what led to the incident.

Howell, 35, is a senior account manager for 23XI, per her LinkedIn page. She has been with the team for more than four years. It has not commented publicly on her arrest.

She appeared in court on May 26 and was released from Cabarrus County jail after posting a $125,000 bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for June 16.
