Defensive line has been a strength in the recruiting game for the Oregon Ducks in recent history, with Kayvon Thibodeaux and Haloti Ngata highlighting the list as top players from their respective classes.
If class of 2027 defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou committed to Oregon, he'd join the prestigious list as well as he's currently rated as a five-star. He released a list of his final 10 schools in February, but now appears to have narrowed his list down to seven programs as his visit list is set for the coming weeks and months.
Fakatou will be in Eugene on March 31, with visits also scheduled to Georgia (March 20), Miami (April 4), Texas (April 9), Penn State (April 14), Michigan (April 18) and Notre Dame (April 25).
It's a busy visit schedule, but Fakatou is worth the recruitment. He's the No. 2 defensive lineman and No. 35 player overall in the 2027 class, per 247 Sports Composite. He competes for Sierra Canyon High School in California, where he's the third-ranked player in the state.
The Ducks currently have eight commits as part of the 2027 class and recently secured the commitment of fellow defensive lineman, four-star Zane Rowe. Three-star linebacker Sam Ngata and four-star edge rusher Cameron Pritchett are the other defenders in the class.
As it stands, the potential commitment of Fakatou would make him the highest-rated recruit in the Ducks' 2027 class — making his visit in just over a week paramount toward persuading him to land with Oregon.
