The World Cup brings some of the most incredible moments of triumph any sporting event could possibly bring. However, with every high comes remarkable lows.

Although every team in the tournament still has at least one game left to play in the group stage, some teams have already seen their fates sealed. Sitting in the basement of their group, some teams are already out of the running for a spot in the knockout stage.

Which teams have been eliminated from the World Cup?​

Thus far, only three teams have been eliminated from the World Cup:

• Haiti (Group C)
• Turkey (Group D)
• Tunisia (Group F)

Turkey's showing was a shocking disappointment, with many fans considering them a dark horse for a deep run in the tournament. They entered the tournament ranked as one of the top-30 teams in the world.

When do the knockout rounds begin?​

The knockout rounds begin with the Round of 32 on Sunday, July 28. The championship match is scheduled for July 19.
