Former California Baptist sophomore shortstop Chris Ramirez announced his commitment to Tennessee baseball on Monday.
"See you at Rocky Top," he announced.
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound infielder appeared in 88 games, including 87 starts, for the Lancers from from 2025-26. He recorded a .348 batting average, 122 hits, three home runs, 27 doubles, three triples, 55 RBIs, 85 runs, 40 walks and 21 stolen bases.
Ramirez also had a .970 fielding percentage and committed 12 errors. He committed nine errors as a freshman in 2025.
Ramirez earned 2025 WAC Freshman of the Year, 2025 WAC Defensive Player of the Year, 2026 WAC Player of the Year and 2026 WAC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
He is from Santiago High school in Corona, California.
The 2027 baseball season will be the second for the Vols under head coach Josh Elander. Tennessee finished with a 38-22 (15-15 SEC) record in 2026 and appeared in the NCAA Tournament Chapel Hill Regional.
