Flem still can’t create on his own. Handles aren’t there to do so.

I am a bit confused by this as well. I remember quite recently reading (or from a video) that Fleming played some point guard in high school. Maybe I am mistaken. His handles are decent, but I agree he seldom tries to create for himself in NBA games. Maybe I should watch some G League highlights and see how he gets his points there.

Guess he can get rotation time as a 3 and D player playing awesome defense and having about 40 % from 3PT, but he might need to add more to be a future starter. If not teams will just pile up on (point) Book and we'll be as inefficient on offense as we saw in this years playoffs.

Fleming has shown why he wasn't thrown in the deep end vs the Thunder in the playoffs. The sky is the limit for that kid but I'd rather they bring him along slowly and stick to whatever plan they have than throw him out there to get embarrassed. I have little doubt he would have been embarrassed if he saw rotation minutes in round 1.

I believe Khaman is closer to regular minutes than Fleming, which makes sense given where they were drafted and how much hype surrounded them before the draft.

Doubts are creeping in for me. I love the kid, but I want to see some signs of demanding the ball and creating for himself before I set the sky as the limit.

He has the physical tools, the motor and drive, a pretty good 3PT shot, and great defense, but he'll never be a star if he cannot get his own points.

Fleming is going to get run this season. The minutes are still tight though, since we brought in Bridges.
If Flemingo plays much better defense and rebounds better than Bridges he should get equal or more minutes, at least in my opinion. Have not watch Miles Bridges play. I hope he is worth it.

The Suns (1-1) play again tomorrow (Monday) at 7 PM Arizona time against the Bucks (0-1).

The game will be on ArizonaFamily (channel 32) and Prime video among the options to watch.
Nice! One more game tonight! I can dig it.

Anyone you guys like outside our three young bigs (Maluach, Fleming, Peat)? I am not impressed by anyone in particular. Don't know how many spots we have open. That Hoiberg guy with the headband, is he on a two-way?

Dunn regressing from year 1 to 2 helped keep my expectations of Fleming in check. I believe he can be a player still but it'll take time. He was a 2nd round pick for a reason. His potential is incredibly high but he may fail to reach it. I still think he should be a rotation player and I'll be fine with that since he was a 2nd rounder. I look at him more as a Shawn Marion type who can and will score but he'll need fed on offense. His defense should be what earns his minutes and contract.

I believe Sam Hoiberg is on an Exhibit 10 (prove it) contract. Koby Brea and Pat Spencer are on two-way contracts.

my brain is all over the place - i didn't know where to start this post - the summer league trio (brea did not make it a quartet) is fascinating to maluwatch

let's start with him - khaman is happy like dikembe mutombo was - but not like jalen green is (no offense to jalen)

dikembe also had a mean side - so does maluach - i mentioned it last season when he started bullying someone running downcourt then again when they got downcourt

he actually enjoyed it - same way the dillons and draymonds do - getting into someone's space (and head) with no fear of that someone returning the aggression

the only tough dude we had last year was dillon brooks - gillespie is also alpha af but my guy is only 6'1"

miles bridges and koa peat do their bullying with their play - by creating and forcing the contact - an elbow to the defender's face is perfectly legal if said defender doesn't have his feet set

the future isn't just bright in phoenix it's tough as nails - when dillon brooks arrived the whole roster magically grew balls - sure - it only kinda lasted a few months but i think ish and gregory want more of that

we have two wayne gretzkies who don't exactly need protecting but they like gretsky they gotta be free to do their thing

simply put - if they come for book or jalen they will be come for - if they don't come for book or jalen then we'll go for their gretzkies

we're going to be fearless this year - you might beat us by 30 but you're not kicking our ass - i loved grayson and oneale but they had to go

i think that's the identity - tenacious and tough - not jae crowder fake tough but for real tough

maluach is still a teenager - who i suspect already has a lowkey bullying problem - his size probably has something to do with it - idk - but he's had dillon brooks in his ear since he got here

could you imagine dillon brooks being 7'2"?

Jameer Nelson Jr. shows flashes of his dad, who was most certainly an NBA caliber player. That said, there is no room for him in our regular roster and he hasn't flashed enough to merit pushing anyone else aside.

I wouldn't mind keeping him on our G League team as an emergency fallback if no other team picks him up.

I like Nelson Jr more than Spencer or Hoiberg. That isn't high praise given the comparison but I agree he's worth a longer look in the G-League.

lmao - maluach didn't get out and cover the guy shooting the 3 but still jumped like he was going to block the shot (from the paint)
