Despite not holding the all-time series lead, the New Orleans Saints have managed to get the best of the Cleveland Browns in their last three matchups. When the teams meet again in 2026 at the Caesars Superdome, the Saints will be looking to keep that trend alive, while protecting their home field against an AFC opponent still searching for its identity under a new head coach.

Despite the six-game historical advantage that the Browns hold over the Saints, Cleveland enters the 2026 matchup with plenty of questions, especially at quarterback. Whether it’s Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, or another option, the Browns will need some form of clarity before heading to New Orleans in Week 9.

Upcoming game in Saints vs. Browns

  • When: Sunday, Nov. 8 (Week 9) at Noon CT
  • Where: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, La.

Record: Browns lead 13-7.

Last meeting in Saints vs. Browns

  • Saints won 35-14 on Nov. 17, 2024.

The Saints handled the Browns in mid-November two seasons ago, in what was to be the signature Taysom Hill game. Hill led the Saints in both rushing (7 carries, 138 yards) and receiving (8 receptions, 50 yards), while also adding three touchdowns on the ground. He capped off his incredible performance in the fourth quarter with a 75-yard touchdown run to extend New Orleans’ lead.

Common connections in Saints vs. Browns

  • Newly signed Saints cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. is the most notable connection between the two teams. Emerson was drafted by the Browns in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft and spent the first part of his career in Cleveland. He suffered a torn Achilles before the 2025 season and missed the entirety of the year — and he’s recently signed with the Saints.
  • The Saints also signed former Browns tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden to a two-year futures contract this offseason. After spending three years in Cleveland, Mitchell-Paden bounced around before being claimed off waivers by the Saints in October 2025.

Notable changes since the last meeting in Saints vs. Browns

  • The Browns added significant reinforcements on their offensive line this offseason: Cleveland signed former Los Angeles Chargers guard Zion Johnson to a three-year, $49.5 million deal, former Green Bay Packers center Elgton Jenkins to a two-year, $24 million deal, and re-signed guard Teven Jenkins to a one-year deal.
  • Cleveland selected former Michigan defensive lineman Mason Graham in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. While production didn’t match expectations, he figures to complement Myles Garrett well on the Browns’ defensive line.
  • The Browns also revamped their offensive weapons, selecting both Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson in the first four rounds of the 2025 draft. Cleveland bolstered its wide receiver corps in the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting former Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion in Round 1 and former Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston soon after in Round 2.

The Saints will face a Browns team with enough defensive talent to make the game uncomfortable. If Tyler Shough protects the football, Travis Etienne Jr. gives New Orleans balance on the ground, and the Saints’ wide receiver group creates separation, New Orleans should have a chance to control the matchup at home. Defensively, the Saints will need to force Cleveland’s quarterback — whoever it may be — into mistakes while limiting explosive plays from the Browns’ receiving corps.
