If the season started today, one Rams player would be their biggest fantasy bargain, another a likely bust, and a third a likely wild card.

This team’s biggest fantasy bargain will be whoever starts the season as the #3 WR. Davante Adams will turn 34 later this year. It is almost inconceivable that he could start every game -- something he’s achieved only twice in his past nine seasons. His over/under on the game played will be around 13.5.

There’s room for 2025 seventh-round rookie Konata Mumpfield or 2024 sixth-rounder Jordan Whittington to step into that role. Or this “win-now” franchise might look to upgrade. Regardless, the #3 WR in this top-heavy passing attack probably will have an ADP outside the top 70... but with realistic top-50 upside if he earns a few starts.

Not surprisingly, Adams is my biggest projected bust. For only the second time in his career, he averaged at least one touchdown per game last year. That’s not sustainable for an aged journeyman -- even one as talented as Adams. The fact is, he averaged only 2.0 yards after the catch (compared to 4.5 for his career) and also didn’t break a tackle for the first time ever. (He averaged one every 22.5 catches entering Week 1.)

He was great largely because of a solid target share and an outsized scoring clip. His target share won’t go any higher, his productivity per catch probably will decline, and his scoring clip probably will plummet.

That leaves Matthew Stafford as the wild card. Despite his QB3 fantasy numbers, the market surely won’t place him in the top five. The seven-to-nine range seems likely. He could just as easily meet/exceed those expectations as he could fall short.
