I disagree with TJ on this one. He’s a bull dog. Already strong and has potential to get much stronger, never stops moving, smart player, very good passer inside.

Isn’t a confident outside shooter but he absolutely showed he can shoot outside, just lacks confidence in his shot.

Prior to the combine (which I think is meaningless) he was viewed as a certain lottery pick.

Great high upside, high floor pick.

His first game was an absolute revelation. Never came close to approaching that again. Hes a talented kid. But he’s 6’6-6’7. And not a shooter. I’ll hope for the best, but have mid expectations.

I mean, it's not like they gave up a king's ransom to get him. I hope he works out, but I'm not going to be holding my breath. All the obvious factors indicate it's unlikely he ever amounts to anything extraordinary. Anybody who's "excited" about this is probably going more on him being a "name guy" from a "name program" than anything substantive.

Koa was a great college player but for reasons I’ve stated numerous times here I can’t see him doing anything of significance in the NBA

Also, Arizona doesn’t have a starting four at the moment

BTW - Koa’s slated to make $3mil this season with his draft slot. He would’ve made more staying at Arizona for one more year

I haven't watched much video on Peat. At his young age and where he was selected, there is tremendous upside.

It's hard to criticize the Suns for drafting him there.

He has a nice pullup, turnaround jumper in the game. His phisiques remind me of AGordon and Anunoby. Might be an excellent pick

Yeah, I can't fault the Suns for drafting a young, high upside player at #30.

He supposedly reworked his shooting form for the combine, and it was a complete disaster for him.

AFTER the combine, absolutely there was a lot of talk that he should stay in college, including from me as a U of A fan because I wanted him back at the school because I felt like he would make them way better.

He needs minutes to get confidence in his jumpshot. I really hope they can get minutes for him. If they can’t, then, yeah it was a mistake by the Suns to take him and a mistake for him to come out.

But I don’t think he’s going to struggle to find minutes. This roster is almost completely lacking anything resembling a power forward, he can also play the five in small ball lineups, and if they can fix his jumpshot he could play the wing in almost any lineup.

The suns are going for smart players with high motors… he absolutely fits the bill.

High floor and if he can fix his shot, he could be a total stud. And this isn’t like Oso, where his shot is a total mess, Peat has shown the ability to shoot, he just needs to trust his shot.

not yet he doesn't have the range on the shot yet but neither did either of them when they came into the league

The Warriors sites are reporting they wanted Brayden Burries and when he got picked they tried to trade the pick. Once they couldn't get what they wanted they took Yaxel. So I am guessing the disageement between Lacob and Dunleavy was on should they take whatever trade offer they had or not?

Burries can play but I would have been pretty mad if they picked him they desperately need to get bigger, didn't want another guard.

It’s pick #30. I think it’s ok to not be enthusiastic, but come on. Nobody we drafted at the position was going to be a franchise changer.

He is a very young player with loads of potential. He isn’t really needed on this roster right now. They can send him to g-league and let him develop that shot without pressure.

It probably would have been good for him to stay in college. He had $5 million sitting on the table at UofA.

He is a big thick kid with excellent mobility and quickness. He scores in lots of ways around the key and when he did take threes this year he made a few.

CRAZY thing about the Suns trading into the first round in a very unique scenario (Dallas/NY trade as the Knicks were desperate to not have a first-round salary) was that the price to get into the top of the second round would have been higher! Remember how much they gave up getting Fleming last year at the top of the second round. They gave up 36, 52, 59 and two future seconds to get 31 and 41 (two future seconds just to go from 36 to 31). They would have had to give up MORE than two future second-round picks to move from 47 to either 31 or 32 to grab Peat in the second round. So YES, without any doubt the price to move into the first round was cheaper than the price to move into the top of the second round - Fascinating!!!!!

Jayden Quaintance said he will need another knee surgery soon to relieve ongoing discomfort from a torn ACL, meniscus and fracture suffered in 2025.

After being selected No. 20 overall, it’s looking like it will be a full redshirt rookie season for Quaintance with the Spurs.
