Some storylines to watch today at COTA:-- Tyler Reddick trying to become the first driver in history to open the season with three straight wins. He starts from the pole.-
- Shane van Gisbergen looking to tie Jeff Gordon for most consecutive Cup Series road course wins (six)
-- Connor Zilisch makes a Cup start on a road course for the first time since his debut here one year ago, when he was running top-five lap times but got caught up in two incidents

This is the sixth year #NASCAR has raced at Circuit of the Americas. Today the track is expecting its largest NASCAR crowd yet. Tickets have been purchased from 47 states and 10 countries.

Alex Bowman is 36th in the point standings with 23 points through three races in 2026.

Bowman is 163 points behind Tyler Reddick and 45 points behind the Chase bubble.

Obviously, the first 3 tracks of 2026 aren’t traditional, but this has been a disastrous start.

The No. 38 in the NASCAR Cup Series was observed making an unapproved adjustment to the underbody during practice/pre-qualifying adjustments. The vehicle was reinspected prior to practice/qualifying session.

The No. 38 car chief (Will Norris) has been ejected from the Phoenix event.

The No. 38 will start at the tail of the field and perform a drive through penalty after taking the green flag.
