As we move closer to the next stage of the offseason, we want to ensure there is a complete preview of the Vikings heading into 2026. So to achieve that, we will be doing free agent previews for notable players the team will have on the market in the coming weeks.

In this piece, we will be previewing linebacker Ivan Pace Jr.

The Vikings' free agency will be both interesting and pivotal to their success in 2026. As they look for a new general manager after the NFL Draft, the interim role will fall on Rob Brzezinski. With not much salary cap space, it makes discussing free agency that much more of a tightrope act than before.

So with the table set, here is a free agent preview.

Background

  • College: Cincinnati
  • Year Drafted: 2023 (UDFA)
  • Notable Achievements: All-Rookie Team in 2023

Notable 2025 Statistics

  • 40 Tackles
  • 1 Sack

Projected Contract Value

Player Summary

Ivan Pace Jr. saw his role diminish in 2025 with the emergence of Eric Wilson in the linebacker unit. Pace still has some juice as a pass rusher if they decide to go that route and bring him back. It is hard to imagine him coming back to be a part of the linebacker group after seeing how he was in coverage and run support, but the pass-rushing juice is certainly there. A one-year deal would make sense to see what he can do, but time will tell on that front.
