The prize money at every men's golf major championship is big, and the Masters Tournament will again fill the wallets of its competitors in 2025.
By the time the dust settles at Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday afternoon, a payout of at least $21 million should be handed out to those that make the cut ― and to those that don't.
While the Masters and Augusta National have not yet announced the prize money structure and payouts for the 2026 Masters Tournament, we can look at 2025 to get a good sense of what it'll look like this week.
The tournament doesn't announce a payout structure until later in the tournament, after the cut is officially made.
That said, the 2025 Masters' total payout was $21 million, an increase of $1 million for the purse from 2024.
While prizes decrease in size the further down the leaderboard you go, players that do not make the cut also receive part of the purse. In 2025, that amount was $25,000.
In 2025, each of the top four finishers took home more than $1 million.
Champion Rory McIlroy won $4.2 million along with his green jacket and the career Grand Slam. Runner-up Justin Rose made $2,268,000. Patrick Reed and Scottie Scheffler also crossed seven figures for finishing third and fourth, respectively.
Bryson DeChambeau and Sungjae Im cashed nearly $800,000 each in a tie for fifth, Ludvig Aberg received just more than $700,000 in seventh, and a four-way tie for eighth was worth $588,000.
