Syracuse received a commitment from 2026 Edison (NJ) St. Thomas Aquinas ATH Josiah Zayas, he announced on social media on Saturday morning.
He selected SU over offers from Boston College, Iowa State, Wisconsin and Buffalo, among others. Syracuse had offered him in November and he visited Central New York in January.
He got a look at Central New York at the end of January when he visited SU for its basketball game against Pittsburgh.
"It was cool," Zayas previously said of his trip to The Juice Online. "I got to meet coach Fran (Brown) and the rest the coaching staff, match some voices to faces. Just be around them."
Zayas plays both wide receiver and defensive back for Edison (NJ) St. Thomas Aquinas, and finished the season with 760 yards and 13 touchdowns on offense, and 21 tackles, six interceptions and 5 TFL on defense.
