The 2025 WHL Championship Series continues on Sunday with a heavily anticipated Game 2. After a 4-1 victory in Game 1, the Medicine Hat Tigers will be looking to extend their series lead to 2-0, while the Spokane Chiefs will have their eyes on leaving Medicine Hat with a split. If Game 1 was any indication, there should be plenty of highlight reel moments when the teams hit the ice for Game 2.
For the Chiefs to tie the series, they need to put forth a similar effort as they did in Game 1. While they only scored once, Spokane finished the night with a 37-22 shot advantage, including 15 in the third. If they can continue to get 35+ shots on goal, odds are they will be able to get more than one past Harrison Meneghin in Game 2.
Over on the Tigers' side, they need to find a way to draw more power plays. Medicine Hat finished with only two power play attempts on Friday, finishing the night zero for two. With the amount of firepower the Tigers have, ensuring they get as many opportunities with the man advantage will be a key to success in Game 2.
Players To Watch:
Cayden Lindstrom:
All eyes will be on Cayden Lindstrom as he looks to build off a successful Game 1 performance. The Columbus Blue Jackets prospect had an assist while going five for 10 in the faceoff dot. While he is still shaking off the rust, Lindstrom is a game-breaking and, with another strong performance, could help propel Medicine Hat to a 2-0 series lead.
Brayden Crampton:
Brayden Crampton was arguably one of Spokane's best players in Game 1. The right-shot defenceman led all players with six shots and recorded an assist on the only Chiefs goal. Crampton has been a leader on this team all season and will need to keep up his strong play to ensure the series heads back to Spokane tied.
