Not that the Power Ranking matter at all but at least it's something to talk about.

Cardinals start at the middle of the pack ranked #18 overall:

#18

Arizona Cardinals

Don’t sleep on the Cardinals. Sure, I’ve said similar things, sotto voce, for the past year and a half or so, but I earnestly believe there’s something interesting brewing here. I thought Kyler Murray played pretty well last season, and a breakout year from Marvin Harrison Jr. could level this offense up a notch. Defensively, there’s a good mix-and-match thing happening at multiple positions, including safety and outside linebacker, giving Arizona plenty of options. Even with Walter Nolen sidelined, the front looks far more capable of collapsing pockets this season. I believe the Cards are contenders out West if the defense can make tangible improvements, and that might depend on how much 2024 first-rounder Darius Robinson and rookies Nolen, Will Johnson and Jordan Burch can contribute.

The Rams (#9) and the Niners (#15) start ahead of the Cardinals.

here is the thing:

if you were to compare last years ranking by record to the current power ranking noted: is there any team that moved more than 4-5 spots?

because when this season is over -- there will be a few / several teams that do

for the country's biggest sport, the amount of critical thinking by people paid to do this stuff is shockingly low

The Cards are 2-0 and not acknowledged as anything more than a mediocre team. But that's the advantage of being 2-0, because they're still 2-0. So all you 0-2 teams like Texans, Chiefs...y'all can kiss our behinds. We'll find out what happens next week. The Cards will likely be 3-0. I think this will be the breakout on offense at SF. Murray's first 300 yard game of the year. The defense will blow a big lead again, but Cards get a big play from Sweat or Collins and will get to the quarterback, and will barely win by a point or 2.

Likely to be 3-0? San Francisco is favored at least right now they are. It's close at -1.5 but they're still favored.

We opened as favorites I believe and betting swayed the other way.

Could be a big loser for some.

Unless our dline pulls its head out I fully expect Mac Jones to carve us up.

They might be favored, but the Cards have played them tough out there. Collins has played well at times in that stadium, and I think he grew last week with his play. He was due, and I think he has a big game on defense. McCaffrey always gives the Cards trouble, but Mac Jones is going to be toast. Cards don't look great but I could see them winning this game. MHJ has his first 100 plus yard game of the year.

Man I hope you're right. But I always factor in something Vegas doesn't. I'll be there so our win chances diminish considerably.

But I am taking my good luck charm this time, my beautiful wife of 40 years

I hope you have a good fan experience. That stadium is full sun, and the fans have been known to harass visitors. Everyone deserves to watch a game in peace. I hope it is a nice day for you both.

I'll be there with my son, my wife, and and friend from St Louis. We've never had to many people harass us, we're all big guys. A lot of if has to do with your attitude. My wife is the only one who drinks, so we won't be bunch of druck fools.

Another Week and the Cardinals stay put a #18 overall again.

#18

Arizona Cardinals
2-1
The Cardinals have been playing with fire to start the season, but they didn’t get burned until Sunday. Following two close victories, Arizona appeared poised to make it three straight after the ageless Calais Campbell forced a safety with 3:15 remaining, giving the Cardinals the ball and a 15-13 lead. If Zay Jones would have made a catch on third-and-9, they win. Instead, he didn’t, and the defense couldn’t stop the 49ers late. This is a bad loss, no two ways about it. Jones wasn’t the only goat, as both Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emari Demercado had awful drops on a second-half drive that bogged down and ended in a field goal. Harrison came up with a big catch on the game-tying drive in the fourth quarter, but he had just three receptions for 44 yards, continuing his slow start to the season. Adding injury to insult, James Conner will undergo season-ending surgery, casting more doubt on an offense that has underperformed so far.

That’s being kind….
The shocking number of bad teams this year is going to mean the Cardinals draft pick is going to be much worse than warranted. There are SEVEN teams with 0 or 1 wins through 5 games this season. That seems high to me. We are going to be really upset we barely beat the saints and panthers at years end.
