The 2025 NBA draft lottery was held in Chicago on Monday, May 12. Teams with the top 14 picks were revealed to several of the top draft prospects in attendance, including Duke freshman and NCAA Player of the Year, Cooper Flagg.
Here's everything you need to know about the draft, including where the Phoenix Suns are slated to pick:
This is a two-day event held on June 25-26 at the Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets. The first round will be held on June 25 and the second round on June 26, starting at 5 p.m., both days.
The first round on June 25 will be simulcast on ABC and ESPN, and the second round will air only on ESPN.
The Dallas Mavericks got the top overall pick for the first time in franchise history with an improbable 1.8% chance of winning the lottery. They are presumed to select Flagg, and won't trade the top pick, per ESPN. The Mavericks drew midseason attention when they traded Luka Doncic to the Lakers in a deal that brought Anthony Davis to Dallas.
First round
Second round
Despite a disappointing 36-win season and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2020, the Rockets own the Suns' lottery pick from the Kevin Durant trade in February 2023. The Suns traded their 2025 pick, three additional unprotected future first-round picks, a 2028 first-round pick swap, Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson and Jae Crowder to Brooklyn. Houston acquired that 2025 pick from Brooklyn prior to the 2024 draft.
They will have the 29th and 52nd picks in this year's draft, both acquired in trades.
