I can see them making something else happen. Not sure who’s there at 36, Thiero maybe? Or maybe another move to get up higher with 36 and 52 . Definitely hasn’t been a boring draft

Prior to the trade, this is who ESPN had going to Brooklyn at 36:

36. Brooklyn Nets

Adou Thiero, PF, Arkansas

Strengths: Thiero is perhaps the most explosive player in this draft, an event creator defensively who is a significant mismatch attacking in a straight line and the open court, drawing fouls in bunches and finishing in highlight-reel fashion.

Weaknesses: Somewhat stuck between forward positions, Thiero is a work in progress with his skill level, feel for the game and defensive engagement. He struggled to make shots consistently and missed most of the predraft process because of a lingering knee issue.

The verdict: Thiero showed significant progress as a junior but will have to make strides with his shooting and overall consistency to play a role at the NBA level. His defensive upside is apparent given his physical tools, and his trajectory over his three collegiate seasons makes him an interesting developmental swing. -- Givony

By my count:
Book, Green, Beal, Allen, O'Neale, Martin (option), Williams, Maluach, Richards, Dunn, Oso.

Not even close to being a problem, especially with 2 ways still available.

You have to think there is a player they really like on their draft board or they wouldn't be trying to move up.

Good lord we share a brain. That’s literally who I was thinking of last night.
i think it's because of his body build, length, big lower trunk. he's doesn't have KG/David Robinson-esque quickness/explosion. But he's built like a load and has enough pop with those long arms to finish with authority even though he's not a sky-high above the rim type guy

Dude looks legit from what I’ve seen. I know he has warts but would love if he or Fleming were the pick.

Several mock drafts I saw had the Suns picking him at 29, so...

I would like Raynaud, if he's there or the Suns can move higher. He apparently has the mobility and shooting to potentially be a 4.

Looks like everyone got their wish - moved into top of second round range. Interesting that we kept the other two picks. Wonder if they’ll use 52 to up from 36 or use 59 to move from 52 or actually bring in 4 draftees this year. Regardless, the second round should be fun.

I like johni broome with the 52.

Off topic....but I have to get something off my chest.
I appreciate you guys for behaving yourselves last night. Especially after I passed out after the tenth pick.lol
Thank you.
That is all.
I was thinking that since KD has been traded, this board has settled into a state of relative calm since the Kumbaya days of the 2021-2022.

EVERYONE seems relieved the KD error is over and that a new dawn is on the horizon for the Suns with plenty of fresh faces begetting fresh arguments, but none where anyone's got enough info to be at each other's throats… yet.

I like this guy, too. They have some highlights at Arizonasports.com.

1. Adou Thiero, F, Arkansas, 20 years old

Measurables: 6-foot-9, 242 pounds, 7-foot wingspan
Stats: 15.1 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 1.9 APG, 0.7 BPG, 1.6 SPG, 1.7 TPG, 54.5 FG% (9.4 FGA/G), 25.6 3P% (1.6 3PA/G), 68.6 FT% (6.5 FTA/G)
Big board rankings: ESPN: 32, The Athletic: 31, The Ringer: 27, Yahoo!: 27

The Suns needed size coming into the draft in a desperate way. Phoenix’s front office massively miscalculated how much of a detriment it would be on a night-to-night basis for its five most important guards/wings to all be 6-foot-5 or smaller with mostly limited athleticism. They coincidentally doubled down on that with the Durant trade.
