Stars Tyler Seguin tore his ACL last night at MSG. He’s one of Dallas’ top scoring forwards. It is a big loss for them and a guy that would be 2nd to skate the cup if they were to win. They will have some significant cap room now to make a trade if they put Seguin down for the year.
I heard recovery is 6-8 months.

yeah that's what I'm hearing. last year he had hip surgery that was thought to be season ending, but returned for the playoffs ahead of schedule and was a factor. I don't think it's going to be the same type of thing. they suffered on faceoffs last night. they will probably need to make a trade, just wondering who will be available.

I'm looking for a one year rental, if I'm the Stars.

Who is out there they can target?

Contract wise I’m not sure who fits. Seguin has a huge cap number close to 10 mil that would be pro rated and available to use in LTIR I guess. but if it’s only for one year only they’d have to find the right person. Marchessault and stamkos are rumored to be available. I like kadri who is with Calgary. All could fit in this years cap but I’m not sure of their future contract status and how they would make that work. I’m not sure of the others out there. Before this season there was some thought that the stars would trade Jason Robertson. he is having a great year.

So Kadri and Andersson both are names that keep coming up. he brought up Florida being landing spots for them but Florida probably won't have the cap room that dallas has now. I really think Kadri is a guy dallas could go after. dallas has better depth on defense now, that's a part of their squad that has improved some this season and it is flying under the radar. they managed to make it to the WCF mostly without heiskanen last season and heiskenan is arguably their best player. but Andersson would also be a huge add for them.

Those 2 young guys are something else. Celebrini has a wicked cannon. and I think he's only 18 or 19?

I saw MacKinnon's OT goal against the Rangers. worth a watch. Mikko Rantanen from the Stars had a goal like that a few weeks ago. I'm excited for the olympics. Looking at Canada's roster is scary. It's too bad Russia isn't competing.
