I really wanted a pitcher in the first two picks. I get taking a 2B in the 1st since thats also a big organizational need but Groover is a terrible pick. He's a DH / 1B at best with his limited arm and we are stocked there.

I feel all three of these guys will come in under slot(Groover and Grice may be close to 250k-500k) hopefully they are targeting a pitcher like Sykora in the 3rd.

So Grice is a two way player who is a sub par pitcher with amazing hitter tools. My guess is he converts to 1b/3b

Hope we can rehab him into a pitching prospect. Interesting he has so many pitches. Looks like he needs help putting it all together.

Watched the draft scouting stuff, and it seemed 2 and 3 were "reach" picks? I too liked the 4 and 5 guys better. A lot of fanfare for our first pick. Should be solid.

2 and 3 were definitely reaches by most rankings but MLB is so odd because of under slot and over slot signings. Sometimes you deliberately take a guy a round early and split the difference on his slot salary to give you more money to sign other guys late.
