Does this go all the way back to 2013 when the Cardinals didn't aggressively go after Andy Reid? Multiple reports had Reid as the odds on favorite to land in AZ.

Arizona president Michael Bidwill said he has reached out to Andy Reid and the Cardinals are interested in hiring Reid as their head coach. Reid, however, won't be the only candidate as Bidwill said he also reached out to Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. In addition to Reid and McCoy, Arizona is also expected to interview current defensive coordinator Ray Horton. The Cardinals are looking for a head coach after Ken Whisenhunt was fired Monday after six seasons in Arizona. Taken from a SBnation article. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2012/12/31/3823192/andy-reid-nfl-coaching-rumors-2013-arizona-cardinals

Another article from CBSsports. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/cardinals-to-interview-andy-reid-for-head-coaching-job/

Kansas City went after Reid aggressively and signed him while Bidwill dragged his feet getting him in for an interview. We also have to remember in 2017 the Chiefs leapfrogged the Cardinals to draft Mahones probably with influence by Reid. If Reid had been hired would we be now looking at Mahones as the starting QB for the Cardinals?

The Cardinals ended up settling for Bruce Arians as their new head coach as their choices dwindled.

Pretty interesting to revisit history and some of the decisions made.

I am thoroughly convinced that if we made different decisions in the past they all would have taken place with a measure of the Cardinals' curse added to them so they would not have turned out all rosy like they did in another city for another team.

According to this article that's not quite right. Dick Vermeil apparently had a lot to do with Reid's decision. In fact he was scheduled to fly out to AZ but Kansas City met him at the airport before he took off they wanted him so bad. He never boarded the plane.
