PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon State baseball added two more preseason All-American honors on Monday for right-handed pitcher Dax Whitney and left-hander Ethan Kleinschmit.
D1Baseball.com named Whitney to first-team All-America and Kleinschmit was selected to the third team. This is the second preseason honor for the pair of pitchers who were also named to Perfect Game’s preseason All-American team last week.

Whitney is coming off a strong freshman year where he struck out 120 batters, went 6-3 with a 3.40 ERA, and was named a 2025 third-team All-American by D1Baseball.com after the season.
Junior pitcher Kleinschmit went 8-5 with a 3.56 ERA last season, striking out 113 in 91 innings of work. He was selected as a third-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) following the season.
The Beavers’ 2026 opener is set for Feb. 13 against Michigan in Arizona.
