2. Bundesliga Preview: Holstein Kiel vs. 1. FC Kaiserslautern
Holstein Kiel hope to continue their rise in 2. Bundesliga table with a home win over Kaiserslautern on Friday night. Tim Walter’s side picked up seven points from their last three games, but they are still only two points ahead of an automatic relegation spot.
Meanwhile, Kaiserslautern still have a slight chance of promotion after wins over fellow Traditionsvereine, Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hertha BSC. With all their remaining games against teams in the bottom half of the table, Torsten Lieberknecht’s side could still aim for the unthinkable.
Naatan Skyttä scored a career first hat-trick in the reverse fixture as Kaiserslautern ran out as a 4-1 winner over ten-man Kiel. The Storks last beat their Friday’s guests at the Holstein-Stadion back in the 2017/18 season.
