The Cincinnati Bengals have enjoyed a strong stretch of training camp before preseason action.

There’s a new energy around the Bengals along the way. Joe Burrow’s offense has been suddenly, if not a little surprisingly, flustered by the Dexter Lawrence-led defense.

Tack on the usual training camp starting job and final roster battles, plus a little bad weather impacting a fan event on a Friday night, and the last few days have been pretty interesting.

Here are a few of the most notable updates and highlights of the last few days of Bengals training camp.

Bengals training camp notes and highlights

Shemar Stewart injury latest

Tacario Davis standing out

Bengals rookie cornerback Tacario Davis has seen a few first-team reps here and there and continues to look the part:

Five observations from Day 7 of #Bengals camp:
1. Third round pick Tacario “Bobo” Davis stands out for his height and wingspan, but he moves extremely well.
“He’s got catch-up speed vertically, and he’s got ball skills,” said DC Al Golden. “I’m excited about him, and we’re going… pic.twitter.com/vBs2YQlOyx

Joe Burrow takes a hit

Not what anyone wants to see during camp. But yes, that's Dexter Lawrence wrecking the offensive line and hitting Joe Burrow:

Cashius Howell winning big

A key Bengals rookie is looking great so far (and they seemed a little uncomfortably close to Joe Burrow):

Whew. Seen this a time or two from Howell at A&M. Good to see how he won in college (speed to power bull rush) still winning early on https://t.co/z7y1ipNgYF

Colbie Young making his case for snaps

Andrei Iosvias is in danger from a Bengals rookie wanting that third-wideout spot:

Key cornerback depth is back and making plays:
