Other Cyclones in double digits scoring include Milan Momcilovic with 16 (three 3-point baskets), Tamin Lipsey with 14, Killyan Toure with 12 and Dominykas Pleta also with 12.

Sebastian Rančík, son of former Iowa State forward Martin Rančík (1997-2001), opened the scoring with a 3-point basket. Over the next 4:51 Cyclones went on a 21-0 run.

The scoring surge started with layups by Tamin Lipsey and Killyan Toure. Momcilovic made his presence felt, connected on a 3-point basket from 24 feet out and a layup. Jefferson and Heise each made layups. Jefferson added a pair of free throws and the longest 3-point baslet of the night from 26 feet out. Colorado’s Isaiah Johnson, who scored a game high 24 points, gave the visitors their fourth point on the night with a 1-of-2 trip to the free throw line. Iowa State responded with eight points over the next 70 seconds as Batemon converted a four-point play, Lipsey scored the nylon from beyond the arc and Heise turned a steal into a dunk within four seconds. Fouls mounted, and Colorado went on a 9-0 run.

Pleta entered the game for Blake Buchanan with 9:24 remaining in the first half and contributed a pair of baskets. Following another 3-point basket by Momcilovic, Pleta added a trio of points to his total with a successful and-1.

The final 3:07 of the first half saw seven Cyclone points, five for Batemon and two for Lipsey. Batemon led all Iowa State scorers in the first with a dozen points.

Jefferson, who scored seven points, pulled down three rebounds and dished out one assist in the first half, started to put his mark in the game as he assisted on a Momcilovic 3-point basket and made four free throws in a row to put Iowa State up 64-37.

A balanced offensive attack over the final 15 minutes – five for Batemon, five for Toure, five for Lipsey, five for Pleta, four for Heise, three for Momcilovic, two for Jefferson, two for Anthony Rise and one for Cade Kelderman proved that on any given night, any Cyclone can score.
