Philadelphia is loaded on the offensive side of the football, and GM Howie Roseman knowingly chose to restock the defense with the organization's first five NFL draft picks.
With the draft night dust now settled, the Super Bowl champions are moving through phase one of the off-season workout program, and we're looking at one player on the roster bubble at each offensive position.
The Eagles acquired the former UCLA star in a trade that sent Kenny Pickett to Cleveland. Upon arriving, Thompson-Robinson talked about playing Chess with Jalen Hurts, and he offered elite athleticism at the position. Fast-forward a few weeks, and Philadelphia drafted former Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord in the sixth round. Philadelphia will carry four quarterbacks throughout the summer, but Roseman drafted McCord, and he fits what the Eagles do with the deep ball.
Philadelphia added two talented undrafted free agents at the position, and they are stacked in the top three of the depth chart. Nichols spent time with Philadelphia during Training Camp and the preseason in 2024 and returned to the practice squad a month ago.
Nichols (5-10, 220 pounds) rushed for 3,061 yards, added 575 receiving yards, and scored 29 total touchdowns in 32 games at Central Michigan. He was the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.
Cooks signed with the Eagles' practice squad on Jan. 14 after spending most of the 2024 season on the Jaguars' practice squad. The 26-year-old wideout will be on Philadelphia's 90-man roster for the start of the new league year, which allows him to participate in OTAs, minicamps, and training camps.
Muse did not see any game action with the Eagles after being signed to the practice squad on Jan. 22.
Philadelphia added three offensive linemen in the NFL draft and has been stocking up on depth pieces like Kendall Lamm all offseason.
