“I Left With Medals” – Fred Kerley Claps Back at Critics Mocking His Enhanced Games Timing

American track star Fred Kerley has once again found himself in the middle of public scrutiny after his controversial endeavor with enhanced games this past weekend. As fans and critics from the sports community have made great efforts to diminish his victory, Kerley has defiantly hit back at his critics who have commented on his track timing that did not live up to what Kerley said it would.

The enhanced games have been known for their controversial nature of allowing PED-injected athletes to compete at different track events without having to worry about medical tests. Kerley, who already has been dealing with a controversial fallout with World Athletics over missed drug tests, signed up for the event and had earlier vowed to break the legendary Usain Bolt’s 100-meter world record of 9.58. Kerley competed and won the 100m showdown in Las Vegas, but with 9.97 seconds.

The timing was measured as a baseline Olympic level, with critics highlighting how the weekend’s performance would have earned him the last position in an Olympic race. With all his pre-race promises now being outpaced by reality, critics lashed out at Kerley for being boisterous and cold. Kerley, in his signature comeback style, has now hit back, stating how his medals will now do the talking.

“They said the event would get me last at the Olympics… funny, because the last two events they doubted me in, I left with medals. World Champion too. Say less,” wrote Kerley.

Fred Kerley’s Track Ban Remains in Effect​

The American sprinter was banned by the Athletics Integrity Unit back in March for failing to show up for the mandatory medical tests. The period tests are conducted to make sure that the playing field for all athletes remains fair and free from drug use. The Athletics Integrity Unit conducts the tests in phases, and after three whereabouts failures within a 12-month window, the athlete gets penalized, and necessary action is taken. Kerley did just that and is now serving a suspension until 2027.

Kerley has joined the list of names like Alysha Newman and many others who have failed to live up to the standards set by the Athletics Integrity Unit, despite presenting reasons to justify their side. It remains to be seen what Kerley does next to make sure his upcoming pathway for the 2028 Olympics remains clean.
