'Shocker!’ ‘Somehow I’m Not Surprised’ — NFL World Rips Dianna Russini As Bodycam Footage Reveals Truth Behind Controversial Traffic Stop
The NFL world now knows what actually happened when former reporter Dianna Russini was stopped for a traffic ticket. The anecdote of an NFL head coach bailing her out has finally been exposed as a lie by police bodycam footage.
After the truth was revealed and Russini found herself in another controversy, the NFL world had some strong reactions.
NFL World Reacts As Bodycam Footage Exposes Dianna Russini’s Lie
The Center Square’s Adam Herbets obtained the bodycam video of Russini’s traffic stop. The seven-minute video showed the complete interaction between Russini and the police officer after she was pulled over for texting and driving, but there was no FaceTime or phone call to any NFL coach.
What the footage actually exposed was a desperate sequence of name-dropping that ultimately led to her avoiding a ticket without ever featuring the call she claimed took place.
After the officer approached her vehicle, she immediately explained that she was an NFL reporter who had just broken the news of Sean McDermott being fired from the Buffalo Bills. When the officer pointed out that she was on her device for an extended period of time, Russini name-dropped former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and said she had been on the phone with him because “he wants the job.”
Then, Russini asked the officer whether he was a Jets or Giants fan. Upon discovering that the officer was actually a Minnesota Vikings fan, Russini immediately shoved her phone forward to display a text message exchange with Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell.

The officer ultimately let her off with a warning, but there was no FaceTime or phone call with O’Connell, and the head coach didn’t tell the cop to let her go because she’s a “good citizen,” as she previously claimed on the “Stugotz and Company” show back in February.
This lie didn’t sit well with the NFL world, and the reactions were instant.
NFL podcaster Tony Farmer posted on hisX handle, “Here is the bodycam football of Russini getting pulled over. There is no FaceTime call with a head coach. She says tweet about McDermott was ‘an emergency’ before pausing and saying ‘…for what I do’… There are some elements of her story she told on the podcast but based on this footage it appears to be a gross exaggeration and lie.”
One content creator said, “‘Try’ to stay off your phone? The officer is a failure, and Russini loves to fabricate to make her stories look bigger. Everyone now knows she a liar . GOOD JOB ON THE BODY CAM VIDEO!”
Another weighed in and wrote, “It just occurred to me that Journalism Schools will be teaching this story for years… ‘How to destroy your Journalism Career in 6 months 101.'”

Someone else pointed out in the comments section, “Shocker! Nobody is more full of herself than her.”
“Jesus…” another user responded.
“What do you know? A reporter that’s a liar.. somehow I’m not surprised by it….” another user added.
Russini’s anecdote was featured in The New York Times’ bombshell report about the former NFL reporter, and it became the latest controversy surrounding her, with Times Company spokesperson Danielle Rhoades Ha calling it “unacceptable conduct.”
Now, the bodycam footage suggests that her story was a complete lie, which further damages her credibility. Russini resigned from The Athletic in April after intimate photos of the reporter and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel were published by Page Six, and an internal investigation is ongoing.
