England’s World Cup defeat on Wednesday to Argentina was a huge disappointment for their supporters.
The Three Lions have come so far, yet fallen at the semi-finals once again, this time under manager Thomas Tuchel.
It is a feeling that Buffalo Bills fans will know all too well, having failed to make it to the Super Bowl with Josh Allen as their quarterback.
Clearly, the Bills have underachieved over recent years, having struggled to make it past the Kansas City Chiefs on multiple occasions in the play-offs.
England’s soccer team has also been able to regularly progress into the knockout stages of the World Cup, but facing the top sides has been a challenge.
After witnessing the Three Lions capitulate in the final stages of Wednesday’s game in Atlanta, NFL fans named the coach that Tuchel reminded them of.

NFL fans say Thomas Tuchel reminds them of Sean McDermott’
Sean McDermott is no longer the head coach of the Buffalo Bills following his exit at the end of last season.
However, NFL fans have seen a number of similarities in England manager Tuchel and former Bills head coach McDermott following Wednesday’s World Cup game.
‘McDermott would at least wait for the 4th quarter to call prevent defense. Tuchel started parking the bus earlier than that,’ said one NFL fan.
‘Sad but true,’ added a Buffalo Bills fan.
Under McDermott, the Bills recorded a .646 winning percentage, but only managed an 8-8 record in the playoffs.
One Bills fan was clearly pleased to see McDermott move on after last season, they said: ‘Noooo. Brooooo. But factual unfortunately. Good riddance to McClappy.’
‘As a diehard Bills fan this tweet wins the internet for the week! This is so hilarious and so true!!!’ added another.
The Bills promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady to the head coaching role in January following McDermott’s departure.
One Bills fan replied: ‘Dude that hurts, but I can’t say it isn’t true.’
The England defeat was still sore with this fan, who said: ‘Pretty much it. 3 LIONS let me down again!’
The FA have announced they will keep Tuchel as England’s manager, with his contract running through until 2028.
Whether they will live to regret it remains to be seen, with the Bills’ future also under scrutiny after moving on from McDermott.
