Last year the Louisville Cardinals faced their second future College Football Playoff participant of the season in the Miami Hurricanes, Week 6. Going down to Miami to face the #2 team in the country the Cards certainly had a challenge ahead of them, playing one of the better offensive teams they had seen all year.
For the second time in three years, the Cards walked into their building and walked out with the Schnellenberger Boots. The Cards massive win was heavily driven off the defensive effort that included four interceptions, and holding the ground game of Miami to 63 total rushing yards, the lowest rushing total of the season for the national runner–up.
