Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever teammate, Sophie Cunningham, has been at the forefront of a controversial debate.
Cunningham believes transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports events, such as the WNBA.
She has since received backlash from fellow WNBA players and coaches, the media and sports fans for her stance.
Reporters have asked Clark to take sides several times, but she has refused to be drawn into the argument.
59-time Grand Slam champion Martina Navratilova has criticised Clark for taking the Michael Jordan approach to the situation.

Why Martina Navratilova called Caitlin Clark’s stance a ‘pity’
Caitlin Clark revealed that the Indiana Fever players have not discussed Sophie Cunningham’s comments.
The 24-year-old was also unwilling to discuss them publicly, as she does not believe it is her responsibility to “find solutions.”
“It’s not really a discussion we have in our locker room,” Clark said. “I think it’s for the leagues and the governing bodies to work with their athletes and find solutions.
“My focus is on basketball and how we can get wins; that’s what we talk about.”
However, tennis legend Martina Navratilova was unimpressed with Clark’s attempt to deflect from the debate.
She compared Clark’s response to Michael Jordan’s neutral political approach during his Chicago Bulls career.
Navratilova posted: “That is a bailout not to offend anyone… Kind of like Michael Jordan’s famous line: ‘Republicans buy sneakers too’. Pity…”
The nine-time Wimbledon singles champion has consistently defended Cunningham and wished Clark would do the same.
