Harry Redknapp was frustrated with FIFA’s decision to issue England defender Jarell Quansah a two-match suspension.
Quansah was sent off for serious foul play in the second half of England’s 3-2 victory over Mexico in the World Cup Round of 16.
England will be disappointed that the right-back’s ban was upgraded from one game to two, especially after the recent Folarin Balogun saga.
The United States striker’s one-game ban in the last round was suspended after Donald Trump called FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
Infantino insisted his interaction with Trump made no difference to FIFA’s decision, but it raised eyebrows nonetheless.

Why Harry Redknapp believes FIFA’s latest World Cup decision is ‘scandalous’
Harry Redknapp has called for the British government to follow in Donald Trump’s footsteps after Jarell Quansah’s suspension.
Redknapp wants Prime Minister Keir Starmer to ask Gianni Infantino to reconsider Quansah’s ban, as Trump did with Folarin Balogun.
“Maybe we can get our prime minister (Keir Starmer) to ring up FIFA and get it overturned,” he said. “If Donald Trump can do it, why can’t we do it?
“That is scandalous really, isn’t it? It really is disappointing to hear that news. What a blow for the boy.”
However, the English FA has been told they cannot appeal FIFA’s decision ahead of their quarter-final against Norway.
England manager Thomas Tuchel is likely to select Djed Spence at right-back on Saturday unless Reece James is available.
The Chelsea captain is recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered against Ghana in the group stage.
