SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Curveballs, a documentary on the only national amputee baseball team, aired at El Riad Shrine on Friday evening.
Parker Hanson, an Augustana graduate and Louisville Slugger Warriors player, organized the premiere ahead of the Warriors game on Saturday at the Sanford Diamonds. Hanson says the film gives great perspective on what their team goes through daily just to play the game they love.
“Life is going to throw you curveballs but its not about the pitch itself,” Hanson said. “It’s what you do with it and how you react to it. The guys on this team are a testament of that. They could have made every excuse in the world not to play baseball anymore but they’re out here playing baseball.”
The film will be out on streaming platforms soon but until then, you can watch the Warriors play live on Saturday at noon.
