Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has aimed a dig at Barcelona following fresh talk about interest in striker Harry Kane ahead of the transfer window.
The England international is still yet to extend his contract with the Bavarian giants, leading to more rumors recently that Barcelona could go for the 32-year-old.
Hoeness addressed the speculation on Saturday after seeing Kane score a hat-trick in the final of the DFB-Pokal.
“Harry Kane is the best transfer we’ve ever made,” he told German broadcaster Das Erste. “FC Bayern is a buying club not a selling club, and Barcelona have no money anyway.”
The Bayern striker was also asked about his future after the match but still didn’t want to talk about a new contract.
“It’s not the time to talk about that now, but there’s no panic,’ he said. ”We wanted to hold conversations until the end of the season and we’ve got a World Cup still to play. But everyone knows how much I enjoy it here. That situation is calm.“
Kane’s goals helped Bayern secure a league and cup double this season and mean he’s finishes the season with 61 goals in 51 games for the Bavarians.
