Pat McAfee is facing backlash for socialising with Donald Trump at the inaugural Patriot Games on Tuesday.
McAfee sat next to the United States President in the front row during the high school athletes’ competition.
The former NFL punter has often refused to delve into politics, but his latest appearance suggests he supports Trump.
Another former NFL player has now publicly defended McAfee, citing LeBron James’ relationship with Hillary Clinton.

Breiden Fehoko comes to Pat McAfee’s defence after Donald Trump appearance
Given that Donald Trump is such a polarising figure, people will have very different opinions on Pat McAfee sitting with him.
Many have already criticised McAfee for associating himself with the US President, giving him the nickname “MAGAfee”.
However, former Los Angeles Chargers tackle Breiden Fehoko has fired back at McAfee’s critics on social media.
Fehoko pointed out that LeBron James publicly endorsed Hillary Clinton two days before the 2016 presidential election.
He and his Cleveland Cavaliers teammate, JR Smith, went on stage with Clinton to encourage voter turnout in Ohio.
Fehoko believes McAfee should not be criticised for merely sitting with Trump, as LeBron went further with Clinton.
He posted on X: “You are an icon, Pat McAfee. All these crybabies on here didn’t have jack s— to say when LeBron was twerking on stage with Hillary Clinton. MAGA.”
