Good to know they're actually doing something. AFT.

    2026 Arizona Off Season Thread

Highest annual compensation for tackles in the NFL is more like $30 mil. Last year PJJ mused in conversation that he'd like to make $40 mil some day. This is far removed from an actual contract demand.

Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby in gambling rehab.

I'd be thinking third or fourth round at best, due to the extra risk of drafting a guy with a history of serious gambling addiction. There's no way I'd risk a 2027 first or second round draft choice on this guy regardless of his talent.

Why the hostility toward Carson Beck?

Exaggerate much? Brissett and Minshew are established NFL backup quarterbacks. Beck will probably be the same. You can call Slovis, who won't be on the team, a practice squad player. Who knows about Beck...probably a backup QB, but again, who knows.

    Our own FA's---anyone invited back?

The answer to your question is an emphatic..NO! This list of players is complete dreck and is just another use of the all to familiar Cardinal roster strategy of "addition by subtraction."

    My body is ready

Last year I was pretty sure that the Cardinals would contend for a playoff spot and definitely finish ahead of Seattle in the West. This year I'm pretty sure that they will finish last in the West and not be in the playoffs. It's official...the Cardinals will be in the playoffs.

    So do we start Beck?

To be fair 2025 was the first season that Monti and the Cards could have reasonably moved on from Kyler. If Murray was jettisoned in either 2023 or 2024 it would have created a dead money cap hit of $80-$85 million dollars. Getting rid of Murray in 2025 still would have been a $45-$50 million...

Projected rookie roles for Arizona Cardinals draft class

Roy Lopez is 6'2 , 318lbs. and Andrew Billings is 6'1, 340 lbs. I would assume they are the D-linemen in the middle for goal line and short yardage situations. Also, there always seem to be opportunities to pick up guys like this after the draft who are one dimensional but can add some value...

Projected rookie roles for Arizona Cardinals draft class

Proctor weighted 291 at the combine and 295 at his pro day. Playing weight in the 290's is fairly typical of D-lineman. Aaron Donald did pretty good at 285(no I'm not comparing him to Aaron Donald). Granted, he's not going to be a big run-stuffing D-lineman. Definitely a penetrator.

    2026 Arizona Off Season Thread

A GM's failure to sign any one particular player can hardly be the reason to denigrate the GM. Players choose to go or not go to a particular team for a variety of reasons and I'm not sure that Ossenfort could have done anything different after last season to entice Campbell to sign with the...

    2026 Arizona Off Season Thread

There's a lot of sins you can ascribe to Ossenfort, but i don't think this is one of them. Ossenfort signed Campbell last year and good on him. Campbell deciding to play, what is probably his last year, for a team with legitimate Superbowl aspirations is not hard to understand.

We are hours away from draft day #2. Let the rumors begin...

Yea, a wet sponge for a linebacker really isn't anything to get excited about.

Rumor of the day (April 9)

To be fair, both Keim(2013-2023) and Graves(2003-2013) were both general managers of the team for 10 years. At least Keim got to the playoffs in his second and third year as GM, but nada for Graves in his first three years.

Eagles Trade for Andy Dalton. There is a new candidate for our QB room: Tanner McKee

I like 6'6. I'm gonna guess that Philly wants a stupid high draft choice for him, like a second or third.

Eagles Trade for Andy Dalton. There is a new candidate for our QB room: Tanner McKee

I don't know a thing about Tanner McKee, but the thought of trading for an Eagles backup QB gives me PTSD(Kevin Kolb for Cromartie and our second round draft choice in 2011).

    O Lineman Evan Brown released

I still think we have a "middle of the pack" roster, but without a starting QB. My guess is that we win 5-7 games next year, and with a better QB we'd probably win 7-9 games. We will see. Remember last year when everyone thought Seattle would finish behind San Francisco and L.A. The NFL...

    Cards sign Gardner Minshew

I actually think that the majority of NFL coaches would prefer Minshew over Justin Fields as their backup QB. You don't want either as your starter, but to me Minshew is the better backup.

    2026-27 NFL League Year

Was it "loser stuff" when the Broncos cut Russell Wilson in 2024 and moved to Bo Nix? They ate $85MM in dead cap money, but made a decision to make the move at QB. Short term pain in the hopes of long term gain. Who knows how this will turn out for the Cardinals. There's lots of reasons to...

    2026-27 NFL League Year

So trading a sixth round draft choice for Fields is a good thing...and if so, for which team? This insignificant transaction shouldn't be a measuring stick for any GM.

Cards Have Most Cap Space in 2027 - $178MM

With $54MM left in cap space this year and a league leading $178MM for next year, the Cards are apparently saving their powder for the 2027 season. Monti gets his second rebuild. Were the first three years just practice?
  24. Card'em

    O Lineman Evan Brown released

Monti's just not good at free agency. Also very mediocre at drafting. Combination of mediocre drafts and poor free agency decisions has limited roster development. After 3+ years we still have no better than a middle of the pack roster.

    2026 Arizona Off Season Thread

He wasn't the third best offensive lineman. Just piling on. Evan Brown was really bad last year. At the end of the year Adams and Gaines were playing better than Brown. No need to keep him. I realize that Brown missed significant time at the end of year for personal reasons.
