Probably a better discussion for next week, but wonder who'd be a good fit with this squad. Budenholzer? Not sure Phoenix would want to roll the dice with someone new like JJ Redick.
The Suns offense completely bog down once they find a 'mismatch'. They then proceed to iso that mismatch; sometimes the other team doubles and the offense looks good playing out of it, more often they don't and it's just a tough midrange jumper over and over. Beal is the only one that makes a...
I would say no to CP3 only because the team already has pace issues. Would rather get someone who can bring a literal change in pace when they come in.
Probably the most level-headed take on the Min/Phx series so far.
TL:DW - 3point shooting luck (in both directions) in the regular season games means this is a lot closer than those results may suggest.
I don't necessarily disagree with any of your observations, but I also don't know how else to structure the series to effectively give homecourt advantage to the higher seed. I'd argue 2-3-2 format they used to have for the finals was even worse.
That's one of the key points to this signing. If the Suns deem that they were wrong and they do need a starter or competent backup level PG, this contract gives them more flexibility to pursue one; otherwise they're picking from the minimum barrel again.
Here's a list of PGs and their average...
More than anything, his defense has impressed me. He's know for being an offensive minded player, so him popping off every now and again isn't terribly surprising, but his on-ball defense has been way way better than I expected.
Mentioned elsewhere but Allen extends for another 4 years @ $70M.
Get his prime years at 17.5 m per is pretty good. For comparisons sake, Cam Johnson got 4 years @ $108M
Other than Gobert (and Ant at times), Minnesota's defenders aren't super physical like we've seen from other teams. This gives me a little hope for a good first round matchup for Phoenix.
The good news is that we just need ONE of Allen, Royce and Gordon to be making those shots consistently on a game-to-game basis. It's most often Allen, but the others can show up now and again too (this is assuming Beal is also making shots)
