2026 NBA Free Agency and Trades

But the Suns were his second choice, right?

    The Market (2022-2026)

Could be a good play. I'm skeptical of CRM itself because it got way ahead of itself at 300+, and also I resent its inclusion in the DJIA. But I have a few positions that could be considered somewhat adjacent, for example FIS -- on which I've taken a loss during three months of holding it, but...

Miles Bridges meets the press today. 07/22/26

That doesn't make any sense. I don't think AI quite has a handle on this yet.

    SpaceX

They're not at all the same, though. All the rest of those companies have been profitable for years, and for most (not all) of them, even though the stock is down recently, it's still way up over the last year or two. SpaceX is years away from being profitable and its stock price is setting...

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

And yet most of this board has penciled in the #30 pick in the last draft as an instant rotation player.

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

    I'm sure he isn't.

    SpaceX

Totally agree, but, given that, you have to wonder why anyone is buying it at 100+. If you get it at 60 instead of 120, you wind up with twice as many shares.

    SpaceX

Obviously that won't happen, but that won't stop the Musk fanbois from believing it. And then they'll conveniently forget about the promise ten years from now. SpaceX is now below its IPO price, which should surprise no one. I was quite conifident that it would spike quickly and then drop...

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

Or a franchise player who can shoot at that percentage, for that matter.

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

I don't like that Bridges's on-court contributions are being way overhyped to compensate for his off-court problems. He's just not that good a player. Even if he were a model citizen off the court, this would be a questionable move.

    Did I just get banned?

Yeah I get why P&R had to be shut down, because even though most people were playing by the rules, a few had to ruin it for everyone. But it has become the main reason I visit the board, so it will be missed.

    Did I just get banned?

Ha, I was going to post about Lindsey Graham's passing, saw that I lacked permission to start a thread, and wondered whether I'd ever had that permission in P&R, or whether it had always been reserved for special people. Then I saw the announcement.

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

She "threw water on him"? This is a joke, right? Dude's the Graham Platner of the NBA. How long an extension are we talking about?

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

Barkley was generously listed at 6' 6" and was definitely a PF, so height isn't everything. However, calling Bridges one is a stretch, pardon the pun. He doesn't rebound like a PF, doesn't protect the rim, doesn't get to the line that much, and almost 43% of his shot attempts last season were...

    Suns sign Luke Kennard.

Huh? Thompson has a career 3FG% of .409, good but unremarkable. He's way overhyped because he's had a couple of huge moments and was Steph Curry's teammate.

    Suns sign Luke Kennard.

If he runs like a duck and shoots like a duck... (Maybe QuebecCard will get this joke.)

    The Collin Gillespie Bandwagon Thread

Maybe, if that moderate leap is concentrated almost exclusively in ball-handling, which was a marked weakness of his last season.

2026 NBA Free Agency and Trades

Ayton's already weak motiviation disappeared entirely when he got his second contract. He said all along that that was his plan. Work just hard enough to get the nine-figure deal, then mail it in.

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

Sure thing bud. I don't have any Suns paraphernalia or season tickets, but yes, this makes my decision not to renew League Pass an easier one. True, I was already leaning in that direction, but after this trade, there's no debate. There is not a chance in hell that the Suns are winning a...

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

Yeah, the Suns really drove a hard bargain on this one. They even managed to keep the rights to Vujanic.

He pleaded no contest, then violated his parole. That's the public record, not "media reports."

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

If this trade is a salary dump, surely there were cheaper options out there.

Shams: Suns trade for Miles Bridges

More than that, we justify impatience. The Durant trade was about impatience, not mediocrity. At the time, it looked (to some) like the only way to improve the team. But things change quickly in the NBA, and that's something the Suns haven't understood for a long time. Just look at what...
