Time for Fans to Step Up

Not so much the money but the years. $2 mil isn't a ton but to waste a roster spot on him for 2 years is absurd. The second we signed John McDonald (a much better option for this team) we should have hung up the phone on Boras and moved on from Bloomquist.

movie a day - #259: wet hot american summer

Best news you'll hear all day. Michael Showalter has said that they are going to make a sequel. I've read where he wants the sequel to be set during the same summer or even the summer before and have 40 year olds playing 16 year olds...

Breslow and D-Backs Agree To Deal

Wins and losses mean nothing for a relief pitcher. Trevor Hoffman has a career record 61-75. Also since he isn't a closer he doesn't get many save opportunities. Breslow avoided arbitration. He is in his 2nd year of arb so his salary is going to be more than the league minimum. It really...

    Recruiting

Here is Scouts database. It is fun to look back. In 2008 Stanford had the 43rd rated class. That class only has three 1st round picks (Luck, Martin, and DeCastro). http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=14&yr=2012

So are the Packers (Finley) and Saints (Brees) failures of franchises too? It does take two to tango.

OT: First Pujols, Now Prince: Good time be in the NL

I'm not saying the D-Backs don't have a shot at winning the NL but Latos/Madson is way better than Cahill/Saito. I do believe that the Reds and D-Backs should be considered in the top group of teams along with the Cardinals (yes they lost Pujols but they added Beltran and get Adam Wainwright...

OT: First Pujols, Now Prince: Good time be in the NL

Made a great trade for Mat Latos and then made the signing of the off-season by getting Ryan Madson for 1 year and $8.5 million.

Cincinnati is going to be one hell of a team. They are probably favorites in the NL right now.

    Cards in 2013 Super Bowl?

Saw this on Darren Urban's twitter. In 2006 the Cards went 5-11. In 2007 they went 8-8 with a Giants/Patriots Super Bowl. And in 2008 we went to the Super Bowl. Well in 2010 the Cards went 5-11. In 2011 the Cards went 8-8 with the Super Bowl being a Giants/Patriots match-up. That can...

2011–12 NFL Playoffs: Ravens vs. Patriots

That is what I was thinking. He was rushing to get set up. Take the timeout. Bad coaching in the final seconds. I guess I am now a Giants fan. Ugh.

    Red Tails

This is what I am afraid off. If this movie fails it will become another piece to movies can't succeed with an all-black cast instead of just being a bad movie. You would think we could get past that but unfortunately we aren't there yet.

    Parks and Recreation (NBC)

Paul Rudd as Bobby Newport was great. Read he will be in more episodes. Rudd is one of the few people I will go see everything they do. Just a funny guy. Also this episode was hilarious. Ben, Jerry, and Tom doing their voice-overs was great and Andy throwing the ball against the wall had me...

    The Pacific (HBO miniseries)

The Wire is better but the Pacific is WAY better than True Blood. Band of Brothers is in the upper pantheon of television. Tough to compare anything to it.
