Camp report by an ASFN poster on front page

    Very nice, Rob! Thanks.

You do get use to the inevitable putdowns. My favorite last year was, "the Cardinals are so stupid they drafted Boldin in the second round." I told that to Rod Graves -- and he laughed, and laughed, and laughed.

There is a # 15, QB Chris Lewis they picked up as a free agent.

Cardinal Fans rally around RB Emmitt Smith!

I think Smith could put up amazing numbers -- IF the O line helps him out. My concern is that the O-line will be improving all season, while Smith may slow down a bit toward the last few games.

    ESPN Breaking The Fitz Story

You're probably right. Still, finding 2 top stories about the Cards on the ESPN front page (the other was the Kendall release) is 2 more than usual. I think that could really help us, in getting this sort of national attention. And, I think it won't hurt the local press to have to come up...

    ESPN Breaking The Fitz Story

As Green's old place of work, I find this interesting. Scoops to national press, while the Republic looks pretty out of date. The timestamps showed the Republic story of 3 no-shows to camp being printed within an hour of Pasquarelli's story. Does this mean we'll get more national coverage...

    Question

    I'm on a lot -- but I don't post much. Shy, I suppose.

Which will get here first? Fitzgerald or the Transformer?

But which one will be the first to be productive?

    Question

I think Ian took it when he was talking to me. So he's looking down, cause I'm rather short compared to him. Or compared to anyone, really. - Jo

    Fourth & Fifth picks signed

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tuesday, July 27, 2004 CARDINALS SIGN PAIR OF DRAFT PICKS Tempe, AZ - The Arizona Cardinals today announced that the team has signed two of its 2004 draft picks - center Alex Stepanovich (fourth round, Ohio State) and defensive end Antonio Smith (fifth round...

    Timeframe to competitiveness

But can we beat the new Rams defense, under Marmie? They just hired none other than Nijrell Eason.

When will the signings start happening?

For the record -- first day of training camp was 7/28/03; on that day an agreement was announced -- a five year deal with Pace. Len Pasquerelli wrote an article (ESPN, dated 7/28 8) )about how this makes it almost impossible to sign Johnson, as there was no money left, and predicted it...

    Home Opener-No Excuses

Maybe we should try to all meet before the game -- or Saturday night? For dinner, or something?

    Tues, June 8th Practice Notes

What's really great is the enthusiasm in the heat -- on what's nothing more than practice.

    Marmie and the Rams

I'm curious - the first time he gets burned trying to sack a quarterback, will he hold off on pass rushes? We had to be the only defense in the league that played against a QB with a broken leg, and never tried to touch him.

    Jo Sparkes at practice

Stout's comment on my optimism last year: it's true. I honestly, really believed we would do well. Any doubts I had were swiftly buried. This year? I honestly, really believe we will do well. However, what Ian says is also true. The difference in the practices is very impressive. There...

Fast Notes from Mini Camp 2 - Friday

No big deal. I'm just trying to figure out how to make this stand out so more people read it. Oh, well. - Jo

Fast Notes from Mini Camp 2 - Friday

Mini Camp Notes 4/2/4 According to Dennis Green, everyone was there except for Big and Wendell Bryant. Wendall is finishing up a class for school, is flying back to Phoenix tonight, and expected to be there tomorrow. I know what Jurecki reported -- and I'm sure if he said it, Leonard said...

    Interviewed & Hired Yesterday

If you really want to coach, do it. She'll understand. Better that than passing on it, and always looking back.

A few comments on players in camp

I wish you could have seen Josh's confidence on the second hard count, when the defense jumped offsides again. Just the tiniest little smile -- then right back to work.

Dateline NBC last night and Green?

"Cardinals trainer John Omohundro said he can tell by the color of urine if enough fluids have been consumed. It is closely monitored through the season. The darker the urine, the less hydrated the person." Jimmy O -- I don't know what they pay your father -- but it's not enough.

Dateline NBC last night and Green?

From my two days watching, there was plenty of water, and people were able to help themselves whenever they wished. It's not quite that bad. What they couldn't do was get annoyed at a coach or player, and then take the next play off. Likewise, when drill time stopped, and everyone was to move...
