lol… this makes Monti look like a buffoon.
Monti makes Monti look like a buffoon. At this point, anyone who sides with this organization doing something right is most likely going to end up with egg on their face. This franchise just seems to invest so much effort into things that really don't matter. It's crazy to think we are witnessing one of the worst 60 game stretches in the miserable franchise's history.

I think the people here that side with the organization/side against the player just purposely do it to be a contrarian, honestly.

The PHNX crew doing their normal offseason glaze of the front office to ensure they keep access. Johnny on his knees to service a GM and Owner who have a .294 win record over the past three seasons.
What JV crushes MO and says he is horrible on the regular.

I'm hoping for an "even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then" event.

Once the tide turns during the season he does. Maybe I am not seeing more of his stuff but this seems like another example of JV backing an inept front office vs a player.
He's openly called for MO to be fired on multiple occasions.
Don't know what you are seeing or hearing but I promise you he is one of the good guys.

We and most talking heads agree this team is likely to win maybe 2 games this year. Not paying Brisket is a business decision - winning 2 games with him or 2 games without him. Not sure about you Warren Buffet types, but $10 large more is a lot of money no matter who is making it rain. Why do you think they got the Stache. And honestly, I want to know if Beck can be the guy or not. Brisket would play maybe 5-6 games and then he's done for $10MM more. Nah. You guys keep blaming Monty for this, but you really want him to shell out money like we're playing Monopoly? Danged if you do, danged if you don't. 2026 season DOES NOT MATTER.

Yeah...I don't care about billionaire saving money when they run one of the worst franchises in professional sports. I want to be a fan of a team that is focused on winning football games and doing everything they can do that. Not one that makes bad moves and then chooses not to make even minimal improvements because "*fill in the blank* season doesn't matter. It should matter, and when it doesn't it is a pure loser mentality and costs you fans.

I'm glad I stepped back for a minute. Because my response was nowhere near as eloquent as yours. LOL

So you're saying you want them to win this year and cost themselves a chance at a generational QB. Is that what you're saying otherwise they're losers? I don't give one rip about how many wins this season if we get the QB we want because without that locked down, we're going nowhere. Playing the long game rather then short term gratification over a few meaningless wins. And I don't care if Badwell is a millionaire or a poser - don't care whose money it is. It's just bad business to throw $10MM at Brisket just to appear to a fanbase that we're in it to win it.

Monti and the PV Hillbillies created this mess when no other QBs wanted to come and declared Brissett the starter.

It's a self-inflicted wound.

Lastly when will any season matter to this trash franchise and it's owners?

You said we will win two games with Brissett or two games without him. So why does the money matter to you?

Brissett, as it stands, will be lower paid than Minshew this year. Yet, he is the starter. The right thing to do, from the teams perspective, is to give him a raise.

There are reasons why this team is always at the bottom of NFL franchise rankings According to the players. Number one is how cheap they are. Sure, they paid McBride. But all that good will is lost when you turn right around and penny pinch the QB your team thinks of as the starter.

A generational QB prospect isn’t promised at the end of this. This same argument was made when Kyler was injured — endure the pain for another season because consistent success is on the other side. We ended up 4-13, out of range of a good QB prospect or a haul, and ended up with a fairly ordinary wide receiver.

Sam Darnold just won the Super Bowl. Joe Burrow’s team went 6-11. The Chiefs missed the playoffs. Both Aaron Rodgers and Bryce Young started playoff games in their home stadiums.

It’s possible to make the playoffs if you’re trying. No one has lost their way to consistent success.

I think Jacoby Brissett makes the difference between a 3- and 6-win season. I have money on the Cards winning six games or more. I also think he makes the difference between Love having 750 yards rushing and 900 yards. I think he’s the difference between this team having two 1000 yard receivers and zero.

I have a very strong preference for being bad and fun over bad and hopeless.
