He closes well breaking on passes and shows good timing breaking up passes in off-coverage over the slot. He reads the quarterback when he plays at linebacker depth and has the range to cover a deep half. He has the potential to develop into a playmaker at the next level. Crawford jumps routes, can pluck the ball out of the air and is a threat with the ball in his hands. As a run defender, he slips blocks, chases and wraps up. Has all the tools but never got the chance or coaching to develop. At Nevada he at least got to play. He’s very raw except for special teams, where he was outstanding. An impact tackler, he makes his presence known. He’s so raw it will possible to put him on the practice squad if they can’t carry a guy who just plays special teams. He stunned some people at the combine with his potential but it’s hard to go from where he is to a regular player while in the NFL.
