of all the great eighties taglines, this one lasted the longest and transcended generations, lol...I’ll buy that for a dollar!
even though I do admit... I was very disappointed none of the car manufacturers took the opportunity to produce a SUX 2000, loolThe longer this has had to simmer in my head... the more I have decided I am really looking forward to it.
Mostly, because IMO that new Robocop movie was kind of a disaster and had none of the soul of the original.... Prime has shown that in their efforst to be a serious streaming video provider they will fund a project enough for it to not have a financial excuse for failure....so it all boils down to who gets the gig as show runner/creator...and while Prime screwed the pooch in a major way hiring that fruitloop to eviscerate Robert Jordans lifes work...in everything else they have shown solid hiring of level headed creators with solid work ethics.
while I loved Peter Weller as Robo as much as any other eighties kid.... IMO this show is a concept more than a specific IP..... so rather they bring in an eighties kid to rehash the original...or they bring in an up and coming zoomer creative to throw in all the AI bells and whistles to the Robo concept...either way they should be able to produce a very watchable product....as long as they keep a touch of morbid comedy to ride on the coattails of thumbing the nose at corporate overlords I am pretty sure I will enjoy the hell out of it.....and if im being honest I have seen some pretty good stuff from both Gen Z and Millennials when it comes to giving the finger to great corporate America and the government that serves them.
so, in short..... Im in...lets go!!

Um...I'm gonna give this a shot though. The original was so over the top, it might just work. And they better not ever remake Over The Top!!

But what really matters is that it is a remake of Over The Top. Duh...Ha! And I freak'n loved that movie. I bought a ford excursion the day my son and I saw this in the theater, and then I got a license plate for it that said REALSTL, or something like that lol. I forget exactly what it was. I miss that tank! It was great for hauling around my son's club basketball team.
