Legendary mercenary.

Is he? He's won in one place, the team that won a championship before and after his tenure. His legacy will be debated for a long while when he hangs them up. He's essentially a Carmelo Anthony type scorer who can lock in on D but doesn't often and ultimately cares more how he's viewed than his team does.

My point has nothing to do with winning. Mercenaries don't always win. They're just paid to play with no allegiance.

LeBron’s camp would reportedly want an explanation from the Lakers if they offer him anything less than a max contract, per
@WindhorstESPN
“Windhorst noted that James and his camp want the Lakers to make a contract offer, and if it is for anything less than the maximum, they want the Lakers to explain why and what other players they are going to target with the money that is saved.”(Via https://hoopshype.com/story/sports/nba/rumors/2026/05/27/lebron-james-waiting-on-lakers/90276371007/)

The Atlanta Hawks are signing general manager Onsi Saleh to a long-term contract extension and promoting him to President of Basketball Operations, sources tell ESPN. Saleh – runner up for 2026 league executive of the year – took over as Hawks GM last offseason after joining Atlanta in 2024 following executive stints in Golden State and San Antonio

Tell him they will give him the minimum and target Anthony Davis. :)

Maybe the NBA should go to playground rules. Let the players make the calls. It might be more fair.
Uh, no. In playground rules, you call your own fouls. FTA would say he was fouled every single time. The games would all be four hours long due to all the extra free throws.

Oh man the whining would be worse….

Actually, for the most part, I've found playground rules to be fair. The players usually call it straight. It's an honor system.

In the NBA, players try to sell calls to a referee to gain an advantage. There is a different dynamic going on.

It's like a game within a game, and it's like whoever fools the referees the most, wins.

Pascal Siakam becomes extension-eligible this summer and could sign a three-year deal with the Pacers worth roughly $207 million
