It's a shame that the conferences had to cannibalize themselves for TV dollars. Six, 10-12 team regional conferences would have been perfect for a playoff system. Conference Championships are the start of a 12 team playoff. Top 2 of the CCG 6 winners get a bye in the 2nd round.

They need to differentiate targeting penalties like the NBA does with flagrants.

I think they can differentiate between the types of hits. A targeting hit is worse and an ejection.

To me, only intentional helmet-to-helmet contact meant to harm should be ruled as targeting. I didn't see that with the Simmons hit.

Agree. If you watch the Simmons hit closely, it’s clear Becht actually crouched, slightly, which lowered the position of head right before Simmons hit him. Had Becht not done that, Simmons’ head would’ve likely drilled him in the chest.

In addition: Skattebo attended high school at Rio Linda. In his junior season, Skattebo rushed for 3,550 yards and 42 touchdowns as he helped his team win a state championship. He's like trying to tackle a bowling ball.
