Just reported on Burns and Gambo.

I think this is a decent trade - I guess. He will at least help us, probably more than either Carter or the pick.

Ok.

I remember him being quite good a few years ago, but have no idea what he's been like the last year or two.

Shamet's stats aren't quite as good as I thought.

He is a below average defender, and is essentially just a 3 point shooter.

Has shown very little progression over his 3 seasons.

steadily the same player. I like it. He’s a legit backup SG, shoots the 3 ball decent and is a pesky defender from what I remember.

he’s a below average defender? I thought people liked his D when he was on Philly and the Clippers. Could be wrong there.

career 39.7% from three is decent. And at least he’ll get some burn on the court whereas Jevon was clearly out of the loop at this point.

his stats have pretty much been the same his whole career 9/10 points a game hovers around 40% from 3

Going by his defensive rating - which usually lines up pretty well with my perception of the player, so I think it is a pretty good measurement.

Steadily the same player is not really good, since he is young and should be improving and by every measure is a below average NBA player.

Another nice piece for not much. Elite shooters are always good, figured we might go after Reddick but this works.

As I posted on another thread the Suns essentially swapped Jevon Carter and the 29th pick for Landry Shamet.

Shamet is owed $3,768,342 the coming season and is a RFA afterwards.

Nets are getting JJ Redick, so they had no need for Shamet

I kinda agree. We just got a very solid backup SG for a guy who was never going to get minutes and likely long shot at 29 to make an impact this year.

if we are able to get Paul and Payne back and add a solid big man big, we will be ready to rock next season.

We traded a guy who doesn't play (Carter) and a 29 pick... What do you expect??

Well, it's not terrible. But I feel like he is barely playable in the playoffs.

I kind of feel like I might of just used the pick and hope I get lucky.

I like the move. However, I think this is a pretty deep draft and I hope we can trade back in to the bottom of round one depending on who drops

I am talking overall player - actually he shot .387 last year, that actually isn't much above average anymore.
