Kyler did everything right but the last pass of the game.

the fact he played so well and we still lost is really an indictment of our defense.
And the fumble that gifted Miami 7 of their 34 points.

well 2 fumbles through 8 games is really not that bad, a few are going to happen, it’s actually amazing the number is that low considering how often he runs with the ball.

Yes, but it still happened in this game and was a factor in the outcome. To completely overlook it like it didn't happen because he hasn't done it too much this year is kind of silly IMO.

I don’t think it is. You can’t decide when a strip sack is going to happen, sometimes they cost you games.

It wasn't some strip sack where he didn't see the defender or something. He was trying to elude the defender and didn't have the ball secured allowing the defender to knock the ball out. It was a bad play by him and played a role in the outcome of the game.

Sure I would agree with you if it was a situation where someone came free on the blind side as it would be something you don't have a ton of control over, but this wasn't that situation.

VJ is such a blowhard. We have Murray, an absolute stud on offense, and Baker, and absolute stud on defense. Yet KK & VJ couldn’t figure out how to use either them in crunch time today.
Baker better start wrapping up, whiffed trying to destroy tua instead of talking him

The thing I noticed about Kliff is that when Kyler screws up....it sort of throws Kliff off.

I think if i was a well thrown ball and Kirk dropped it then we would have went for it on 4th down.

To me that was the major game changer. Baker makes that tackle and we win the game.

Yes, but Budda is normally a very good tackler. I think the Cardinals watched Tua’s tape from last week & woefully underestimated his ability to be shifty. Should have watched his Alabama tape prior to his injuries.

I mean TBF our defense allowed less points than we scored (27). Still shouldn't have given up 27, but in a game with no turnovers that may have been just enough for the win.

but then you’re giving the offense no room to breath. It means they have to be perfect. That never happens.

Don't necessarily have to be perfect, but just can't hand the other team 7 points. Though at the same time the defense needs to do a better job against an inexperienced QB than they did. Don't think either of us is wrong here.

K1 running around comes back to bite passing game at times. He mentioned before getting tired cause of runs & it affecting his throws. Got to remember this is real life & not madden with stamina turned off.

Imo...

If you're running it two times/eating clock...you had to assume he was going for it if they didnt get that 3rd down.

You slow play it once you get to the redzone...not before.

This.

You don't start eating clock and slowing the game with 2 runs on a day your averaging 2.8 yards per run when you are still 56 yards out for a FG.

The dolphins were missing all of their running backs and two wrs and still found a way to make their offense work. With a rookie QB in his second game. I expect our defensive coordinator to be able to make the defense work with a couple missing pieces.

Especially when those pieces are an average CB2 and a slot corner that played 60% of snaps in his last game and you just got back your SS from IR.

Maybe for the win, sure, but not a tie. That last series has me so perplexed .

I just don't get it. You just made a big gain. We should have been playing hurry up. There. Another quick pass paly to get another 8-10. Then run it. Now you have a 39 yard FG at worst if you don't make the 3rd down.

It was bad from Kliff but we never should have been there, 31 points should be more than enough to beat the Fins. Defense was trash.

Defense was trash, zebras decision didn't help either. Overall 31 points 1 missed FG one Fumble and 1 turn over by down and 1 punt shouldn't lose you a game. That shows how "much" our D hold up. No one came up with a big play VC couldn't build a D to stop a rookie in his second game. Tua looked like the second coming of Marino ... gosh. Next game he will be stomped in the ground. That is how bad our D was. Last week he only made some throws and was really average, yesterday he wasn't brilliant, but our great DC gave him all the time to find the open WR. Pathetic showing from Vance again and with that already the second or (if you count the lions game) third game he that his unit cost us more than any other unit on the field. Of the D plays mediocre we win this game. But they didn't and Kliff has to fire his DC end of the year, if not he is getting canned sooner or later because of his DC like in his last stop as HC.

There were plenty of situations where VJ's play-calling got Miami into tough positions, but players either committed a dumb penalty or missed an assignment/tackle to bail them out.

Not saying VJ doesn't have his flaws, but if for instance Fotu keeps his hands off Tua's facemask or Campbell doesn't lose contain on Tua on 3rd and long than this game probably plays out much different than it did.

I remember one of the big penalties against Fotu just not existing in the replay. Complete phantom flag.

He had a facemask and a NZ infraction called on him that I can remember. Not sure about the NZ penalty, but he did indeed get some of Tua's facemask. That play would have resulted in Miami having like a 3rd and 28.
